Tequila Tristan Blanco
Tequila Tristan Blanco is made of 100% blue agave weber.
Our agave plants are grown for at least 8 years until they are mature enough to be harvested. Only healthy and good quality agave is chosen for Tristan. We use low-land agave which tends to be less fibrous and allows us to keep methanol al the lowest levels possible.
Once the agave leaves are chopped off we keep the heart or "piña", The piña (30-50 Kg) is cut into maximum 4 pieces and loaded into the autoclave, which is a high pressure cooker.
Under rigorous temperature controls our agave is steamed for several hours and then cooled down for another few hours before we can start tearing and grinding the cooked agave to obtain agave juice for fermentation.
We use homemade yeast obtained from agave itself. Our double distillation process in alambiques will give us tequila blanco at 55%-60% Alc. Vol.
Before bottling our Tequila blanco gets diluted with thermal water from our own water well and it's alcohol volume decreases to 40%.

Tequila Tristan Reposado
Tequila Tristan Reposado is made of 100% blue agave weber.
Part of our Tequila Blanco is aged in american white oak barrels for 9 months. Our barrels are used standard bourbon barrels of 200 liters capacity. The american white oak grows in the east of United States of America. Its wood is very dense and contains a lot of natural sugars which are later transferred into the typical bourbon vanilla taste.
After 9 months our Reposado acquires the right portion of aromas from the wood while not losing the typical agave flavors. The more often you use a barrel the less flavors it will release into the tequila.

Nose:
Cooked agave. Almonds. Light vanilla notes.
Taste:
Sweet flavors of cooked agave. Wooden notes. Dried fruit and butter. Long aftertaste. Pleasant presence of alcohol.

Tequila Tristan Añejo is made of 100% Blue Agave Weber.
Part of our Tequila Blanco is aged in american white oak barrels for 2 years. Our barrels are used standard bourbon barrels of 200 liters capacity. The american white oak grows in the east of United States of America. Its wood is very dense and contains a lot of natural sugars which are later transferred into the typical bourbon vanilla taste. We flame our barrels after having used them 5 times. We flame our barrels with wood from barrels which can't be used anymore in order to maintain the pure white oak flavors. The toasting and charring transforms the wood sugars into vanilla and caramel flavors. For the Añejo we use older barrels, which have been previously used for aging in order to have less flavors from the barrel released into the tequila.

Tequila Tristan Extra Añejo is made of 100% Blue Agave Weber.
Part of our Tequila Blanco gets aged in American White Oak Barrels for 5 years. Our Barrels are used standard Bourbon Barrels of 200 liters capacity.
The American white oak grows in the east of the United States of America. Its wood is very dense and contains a lot of natural sugars, which are later transferred into the typical Bourbon vanilla taste.
We flame our barrels after having used them 5 times. We flame with wood from barrels which can’t be used anymore in order to maintain pure white oak flavors. The toasting and charring transforms the wood sugars into vanilla and caramel flavors. For the Extra Añejo we use older barrels, which have been previously used for aging in order to have less flavors from the barrel released into the Tequila.

Tequila Tristan Single Barrel Edition is made of 100% Blue Agave Weber.
Our Barrels are used standard Bourbon Barrels of 200 liters capacity.
Tequila Tristan's 7 years old Single Barrel was aged in white american oak barrel number 888, stored in a semi-open barn next to the town Tequila. The barrel was exposed to different temperature and climate changes nevertheless preserving the typical agave flavors during the years.
The intensity of agave flavors in tequila depends on the maturity of the agave plant used. It is very important to choose agave plants matured for at least 8 years in orden to obtain a satisfactory result.
Aging for 7 years in a wood barrel has given the tequila a nice bouquet of aromas. Primary aromas like raw and cooked agave and secondary aromas combining from the fermentation and double distillation process were in touch with oak forming a smooth and long lasting aftertaste.
This exclusive edition will come in a semi-artisan 750ml bottle packed in a wooden case.
